About Us
Community Gardens of Chester County is a local non-profit community organization, dedicated to improving the quality of life of our county's low-income residents through community gardening and greening.
We accomplish our mission by:
- Encouraging low-income residents to build gardens and grow food together in their own neighborhoods, using sustainable, Earth-friendly methods
- Providing support at every step, from garden design and raised bed construction to planting, tending, and picking the produce
- Promoting awareness of the many health benefits of gardening
- Strengthening ties among neighbors by helping them take pride in their surroundings
- Linking each gardening community to a supportive network of volunteers who care about plants and people.
